Accessing the Special Collections
At Bishopsgate Library we welcome telephone, email, or postal enquiries regarding the contents and subject coverage of our special collections and are happy to retrieve items for you in advance of your visit. Please consult the collections pages and online catalogue for information about our collections.
We are also a research library and our special collections can be viewed in the Researchers Area. You will be asked to complete a short registration form on your first visit. Coats and bags are not allowed in the Researchers Area, lockers are provided.
Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the Researchers Area. Those aged 12-17 may consult special collections if accompanied at all times by a responsible parent or guardian.
The Researchers Area is closed between 1.00pm - 2.00pm daily. Items are retrieved on demand between 10.00am - 12.30pm and 2.00pm - 4.45pm. Any items required for viewing on Saturday must be ordered in advance as no material can be retrieved on that day.

Unfortunately due to limited staff resources we are unable to answer in-depth research questions or help with family history research.
