Introduction to the History of European Art (AC110101)
Combining appreciation with the history of the principle movements, we will explore the differences between Medieval and Renaissance art, and between Baroque and Neo-Classicism. Over 5 classes and a Saturday morning visit to the National Gallery, we will look at a selection of masterpieces from Giotto to Cezanne. Notes will be provided.
