Accessing the Special Collections
Bishopsgate Institute's Special Collections and Archives can be viewed in the Researchers Area of our Library.
On your first visit we will ask you to complete a short registration form. You do not need to provide ID to complete this process. However each time you visit will ask you to sign in and put your coats and bags in the free lockers provided. Food and drink are not allowed in the Researchers Area.
You do not need to book an appointment to view items in our collections. We retrieve materials on-demand throughout the day. You can find our opening hours here.
Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in the Researchers Area. Those aged 12-17 may consult the collections if accompanied at all times by a responsible parent or guardian. Please contact us in advance of your visit.
