Somewhere to Belong Oral Archive
About this Archive

Admin Bio:
Sycorax Collective are a company dedicated to creating imaginative works, unafraid to delve into the grotesque and taboo to tell stories and explore social issues.
Their debut production was ‘BLUE’, which was an abstract fairytale for adults, exploring experiences of mental health. To help them create the production, Sycorax ran a series of free creative workshops with the local community inn Slough. The workshops allowed people to explore experiences and perceptions of mental health in a creative and encouraging atmosphere.
In 2020, the Sycorax Collective began to develop a piece of theatre about bisexuality, and the challenges faced by people who are attracted to more than one gender. In order to develop a show that reflected individuals experiences, and those of others in the community too, they decided to have conversations with as many people as possible and asked them to put their voices on record as part of a collection of interviews. These interviews have now been developed into an archive of contemporary Bi+ experience, with interviewees from around the world.
