The Bishopsgate Institute is looking for an Administrator (Partnerships & Events). This role is a fixed-term contract for 6 months and is offered part-time (either 3 days per week / 21 hours or 4 days per week / 28 hours) to be worked over the 7 days of operations. It comprises the following elements:

  • Planning, coordination and administration for programmed events and activity in support of the venue hire and event planning team
  • Liaison with programme partners over the logistics, scheduling and ticketing of events
  • Coordination with the library team over tours and workshops for paying groups and administration of the invoicing and payment process
  • Invigilation of filming hires, as required, including escalating any breaches or additional requests on the day
  • Marketing administration support, including website uploads for the new season, and coordination of content for digital and print collateral production and posts (such as bios and imagery to be used)
  • Occasional additional administration, as required

The role is based at Bishopsgate Institute’s offices, although we consider flexible working requests.

This is a liaison, coordination, communication and administration role, not programming, and it will suit an experienced, organised and confident events administrator. This role is based in the Venue Hire & Event Planning team, not the archives.

It will be important for the post holder to know when to ask for guidance or clarification, and when to use their initiative and good judgment. Attention to detail, accuracy, self-sufficiency, excellent communication skills and confidence will be essential.

Application deadline: Monday 03 February 2025 - 10am

Interview date: Wednesday 12 February 2025

Successful applicants will demonstrate a keen understanding of Bishopsgate Institute’s unique offer, and a passion for the work we do here.

We value and celebrate diversity, and we welcome applications from under-represented communities in our sector, including Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities, LGBTQ+, non-binary, neurodiverse and disabled candidates. We want to make sure we represent the society in which we work but recognise that the cultural sector still has much work to do in this area.

As a start, we use application forms and not CVs to provide an identical opportunity to all candidates to tell us how their skills and experience meet our criteria in the same format as others. In that application form, we only ask for information that we need to assess candidates against the person specification for the role, and all applications are anonymised before the recruiting panel sees them (they don’t see your name or any of your personal information).
