Terrence Higgins Trust
The Terrence Higgins Trust is the UK’s leading HIV and sexual health charity. It was formed in 1982 by friends of Terry Higgins, one of the first people to die of an AIDS related illness in the UK. The charity aimed to reduce the spread of HIV and promote good sexual health (including safe sex); to provide services on a national and local level to people with, affected by, or at risk of contracting HIV; and to campaign for greater public understanding of the impact of HIV and AIDS.
Terrence Higgins Trust continues to campaign, fighting stigma and promoting the message that HIV positive people with an undetectable viral load can’t pass on the virus.
