Gallery: Out and About! Exhibition Opening
News Story
Bishopsgate Institute has taken over The Curve at Barbican, with an archive installation of objects, ephemera and media highlighting 40 moments and stories in London’s LGBTQ+ history.
On Monday 28 February, the last day of LGBTQ+ History Month, we opened the doors of our take-over at Barbican. Expertly curated by our Special Collections and Archives team, using materials from our collections, this exhibition charts 40 years of London's queer history.
To mark the opening of the exhibition we were joined by many of the depositors and donors who have contributed to our LGBTQ+ collections over the years. It was an overwhelming night, filled with much laughter, conversation and reflection, whilst paying homage to the queer culture of our city.
Take a look at the gallery below to see images from the night.
