Queer Tango London – 6 for 5 offer
Whether you're new to the dance floor and want to learn all the stops in a safe, supportive environment, or you're already a regular at Queer Tango London and want a little discount on your dancing for the Spring term, our 6 for 5 offer is for you.
Queer Tango London offers people who dance tango – or anyone who wants to learn – opportunities to experiment with who does what, and why, and how. We teach authentic Argentinian Tango, but with queer sensibilities. LGBTQIA+ dancers and everyone else are welcome to try out dancing tango as leaders and/or as followers in our safe queer space.
After each class, there is a Milonga until 22.30, so you can stay and practice what you've learnt.

It was a wonderful evening. I had never danced tango before and took the Beginners' Class. Everyone was so friendly! The teachers really looked after us, put as at our ease and took time to explain everything. In the class they had encouraged experience dancers to join in and dance with beginners - it really worked well. The whole atmosphere was great.
Frequently asked questions
I've never danced before - is this offer right for me?
Absolutely - our events are designed with you in mind. We run the safest of tango spaces where you can experiment, and we can support you.
What can I expect?
At each class, we focus on an aspect of the dance – walking, backward ochos, the cross - gradually building up your tango vocabulary and working the steps into your dance. In our classes, we teach everyone both roles all the time, so you will be able to to take to the dancefloor with confidence both as a leader and as a follower.
At the same time, we show you how the dancefloor works - how dancers dance anti-clockwise in the ronda without bumping into each other, how you can invite a dance partner, how to join the dance and and how take to the floor - so that you can participate in the evening's Milonga without worry.
What if I need additional time to practice?
Our lovely Upper Hall at the Bishopsgate Institute is big enough for us to have the luxury of a separate practice space, where we can take time with you to sort out anything which isn’t working without holding up the other dancers.
I'm already beyond the beginner stage - can I still attend?
We always welcome more experienced dancers to participate in the class. Practicing with experienced dancers really helps beginners' confidence and speeds up their progress. And besides, we all benefit from a bit of “back to basics”, no matter how advanced we are.
